OVERVIEW
The Office of Justice Programs (OJP) participated in the 2024 International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Conference in Boston, requiring a large-scale 10' × 20' exhibit booth that would effectively represent the agency and engage thousands of attendees. The objective was to create a modern, visually cohesive exhibit that showcased OJP's mission, highlighted its public safety initiatives, and reinforced the agency's newly established brand identity.
CHALLENGE
Designing for a large-format conference environment required balancing visual impact with clarity. The booth needed to communicate OJP's broad mission and diverse portfolio of programs while remaining approachable and easy to navigate in a busy exhibition hall. The design also had to accommodate multiple stakeholder priorities, align with newly developed brand guidelines, and ensure that messaging and imagery remained legible from a distance without overwhelming visitors.
SOLUTION
I led the creative direction and design of the exhibit, developing a clean, modular layout that combined bold photography, concise messaging, and strong visual hierarchy to maximize visibility and audience engagement. Working closely with internal stakeholders and the exhibit vendor, I ensured the final graphics translated seamlessly from concept to production while maintaining consistency with OJP's enterprise brand standards. The completed exhibit successfully elevated OJP's presence at the conference, providing a professional, welcoming environment that supported outreach, education, and conversations with law enforcement leaders from across the country.
